The personality of our founding attorney, Linda Watson, is what sets Watson Law apart. Ms. Watson offers legal representation with a personal touch, and clients appreciate this difference. While some lawyers are unreachable and unresponsive, Ms. Watson is very accessible and takes a hands-on approach to each case.

Ms. Watson has worked in family law and related issues for more than 23 years. From her first legal clerkship, to her years as a prosecutor handling domestic violence charges, to her current work in private practice, she has seen Illinois family law from every perspective and followed its changes over time. Her thorough understanding of how to use the law to her clients’ best advantage will give you the edge in your case.

Ms. Watson works directly with her clients on all aspects of their cases. She believes in constant communication and takes the lead in handling the case from start to finish. Drawing on her experiences in the courtroom and in the court system, she works to position her clients strategically throughout the entire litigation process in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.

Linda Watson teaches continuing education courses to other attorneys both locally and nationally staying at the forefront of today’s hottest legal issues.  She is a committee member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Committee on Criminal Justice, currently serving as the senior staff editor, publishing throughout all of Illinois.  She attended Illinois State University, where she received her B.A., and Chicago-Kent College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor. Currently, she is an active member with the American Bar Association and with the Peoria County Bar Association, the Tazewell County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. She actively teaches continuing legal education classes to fellow attorneys in Central Illinois and the Chicago area.

Linda Watson was born and raised in Central Illinois, so her commitment to its citizens runs deeper than just professional interest.

Megan Bio
Megan Johnston
Paralegal

Megan E. Johnston is a Paralegal at Watson Law.  She earned her Associates in Paralegal Studies degree in 2005 from Illinois Central College and is a member of the Central Illinois Paralegal Association. Through her career Megan has worked extensively with other well-established attorneys, one now a judge, and has over 14 years’ experience in various areas of law.

Megan is married with three furkids: two cats and a dog. In her free time, she volunteers at Corn Stock Theatre, and is highly respected in the theatre community. Currently she has been appointed to the Fundraising & Social Events Committee, and recently earned an award for her dedication to all technical aspects of several productions at the theatre.

She is dedicated, compassionate, and loyal in all areas of her work. Megan has the knowledge and experience to handle your personal injury, divorce, custody, family or criminal case. She is a capable and integral part of the team!

Susan Bio
Susan Donohue
Paralegal

Susan Donohue has been a Paralegal with Watson Law since August 2016. Susan has expertise in the family and divorce litigation process as she has taken numerous legal education courses, including but not limited to, AAML Annual Family-Divorce Seminar. Susan primarily handles day-to-day operation of dissolution of marriage cases, including custody, child support, maintenance, and property division in preparation for trial of the divorce matters. Susan received her Associates in Paralegal Studies from Illinois Central College and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

Susan is a recent graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and is preparing to sit for the Illinois Bar Exam this summer.

When Susan is not working or attending school, she enjoys spending time with her two children, her husband, and pets doing various activities in the local area, including frequent trips to the Museums and the Zoo.

Shandra Ghent
Clerk

Shandra Ghent is a clerk with Watson Law and has been with the firm since 2018.  When not in classes she performs the secretarial work but as her education continues she is getting more and more involved in the world of paralegal work.

Chris Watson
Accounting

Chris Watson handles the accounting and business administration work for Watson Law.  Chris holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting with a concentration in Business Information Systems from Illinois State University.  Chris performs this work part time for the firm.  His day job of 20+ years is with a technology company based out of Chicago where he leads a team of more than 40 technology professionals here in North America and India delivering health benefit data conversion solutions to Fortune 500 companies.

Chris and Linda have been married for more than 22 years.  While not an attorney Chris has been at Linda’s side since undergrad, as Linda is known to take her work home with her Chris is eager to assist as a sounding board for whatever the case of the day brings.

Chris and Linda have one teenage son which they enjoy traveling the world with.  When not abroad Chris spends his free time maintaining their historic Washington home and enjoys amateur auto racing.
